Cheetah
Acinonyx Jubatus

One of the planets most beautiful cats. There are very few left in the wild and not too many in captivity. A cheetahs main staple is gezzelle. The small prong horn deer like animals are quick and agile just what the cheetah likes, something that gives it a challenge. Cheetahs competition are mainly the Lions Lions will purposely seek out a cheetahs den to kill all the cubs too lesson the competition on the hunting field even though lions don't hunt gezzelle. Lions will also kill Leopards cubs for the same reason, or the reason which scientists have come to believe. I've read that a cheetahs claws do not retract and I've read that they can. Cheetahs do in fact have retractile claws. What causes this misconception is the fact that cheetahs are the sole cat that don't have a sheaths of skin to cover the claws when retracted. Cheetahs claws are dull and bunt. It cannot swipe and grab like a tiger, lion and so forth can. Their paws are more dog like, as is their body. The large chest cavity to house the lungs to reach the speeds this cat needs to hunt. Another myth is the mph people claim cheetahs can achive. 90mph is a myth... 55 to 65 is more in the area of truth. Nonetheless, that is extremely fast for a land mammal. The picture at the top right is one of a King Cheetah. It's a mutation giving this cat a different color patternization. More solid blacks in larger areas.
