Two stories of Echo exist. One is grim. Pan desired Echo, but she wanted nothing to do with him. In revenge Pan had her torn to pieces by shepherds Pan drove mad. She was torn so completely to shreds, only her voice survived. The second story is she was attendant for the goddess Hera. Echo chattered so much that Zeus could always hear his wife and train on approach and he had time to cover whatever affair he was engaged in. Hera quieted the nymph, denying her the power of speech save to repeat what other said and only the last few words they spoke. Echo pined away due to this punishment and nothing remained of her but her voice.
Son of Cephissus, the river God. Narcissus was a young handsome fellow in Greek myth. Nemesis was truely annoyed by him because he love nothing more than himself, his vainity was extreme to say the least. Nemesis caused Narcisssus to fall in love with his oun reflection. He stayed at the pool doing nothing but gazing upon his reflection. he was so taken by his own beauty that he couldn't pull himself away to do anything. He starved to death of course being he never left that pool (that could have been Nemisis' plan). Narcissus was changed into a flower after dying "a Narcissus of course".
