Hera, daughter to Cronus and Rhea. She is Zeus' sister and his wife and only second to him among the Olympians. Hera is the mother of Ares, Hebe and Hephaestus. She is the protectress of tress of marriage, childbirth and the home. Because Paris awarded the golden apple to Aphrodite, she is the enemy of the Trojans. Hera appears in a score of mythological stories as the jealous wife of philandering Zeus, harrying his mistresses and persecuting their children.
