Orcinus Orca 
These are very cool whales. They look dolphin like and like dolphins, eat meat. But unlike dolphins, they eat pinnipeds such as seal lions. Other foods are Baleen Whales, fish, squid, sea turtles and birds. These animals have been placed on display in many marine attractions for many years. I have mixed feelings about these places as I feel it's sad to keep an animal that needs vasts amount of water to stay lively and healthy. On the other hand, people need to see these creatures first hand to know they exist and without protection and preventing pollution of our oceans they will eventually cease to live.
GROWTH: To 31 feet HABITAT: Cooler coastal seas. RANGE: In Atlantic from pack ice to Lesser Antilles including north, eat and west Gulf Of Mexico. In Pacific from Chukchi Sea to Equator. |
